Tanner’s original “folkmush” and arrangements of traditional mountain tunes on guitar, banjo and harmonica earned him top honors in our 2021 Emerging Artist Showcase.
Tanner performs solo, as various vagabond projects, and with the progressive punkgrass band Seldom Said No, which recently won the 2022 Central PA Music Hall of Fame Award for Best Bluegrass band. His extensive catalog includes his latest releases Elias / Hunter (instrumental EP, 2021), as well as Seldom Said No's self-titled album (2021).
He has made ends meet as a vegetable farmer, rock climbing enthusiast, river guide, and all the while has managed to continue playing shows to the outcasts of dank bar rooms, living room concert-goers and festival attendees alike. He prefers barefoot walking and once saved the family dog from a rattlesnake.
