About This Event:

* Presented in partnership with the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF) Susquehanna Chapter, PA.

The word été (eh-TAY) in French means "summer" — a fitting tribute to this trio's original, lively take on Québec's traditional music. With lovely vocal harmonies, deep groove, and rich instrumentation, their shows transform the nostalgia of a kitchen party into an unforgettable celebration of the joie de vivre of Québecois culture. É.T.É are Élisabeth Moquin (fiddle, step-dancing, vocals), Thierry Clouette (bouzouki, podorythmie, vocals), and Élisabeth Giroux (cello, vocals).

Élisabeth Moquin is originally from Saint-Majorique-de-Grantham, where she had her first contact with traditional arts. Active in the traditional dance and music scene, she travels throughout Québec to share her passions and keep active her living heritage. She holds a degree in violin from the traditional music program of the Cégep de Joliette.

Thierry Clouette holds a bachelor’s degree in musicology at University of Montréal, and also also studied Irish bouzouki and Québec traditional music at Cégep de Joliette. A multi- instrumentalist, he works on varied musical projects such as Saligaude and Innerspace.

Élisabeth Giroux graduated from the Montréal Conservatory of Music in cello performance. She has become a very versatile musician, stretching beyond her busy symphony and teaching career to the traditional Québec music scene. She has participated in more than twenty recordings with various projects and artists.

Founded in 2015, É.T.É was awarded the OPUS prize for “Discovery of the Year 2017-2018”, among many other accolades since their first album release in 2017. They are quickly winning the hearts of listeners worldwide, young and old alike.
