It is a pleasure to see how much enjoyment Timi Turmel, Erin Leahy, and Louis Schryer find in playing together. While honouring their heritage as Cécilia, their music also brings in fresh flavors, vibrant rhythms and unique twists, all resonating with a unique warmth and richness of expression. You’ll find yourself with a smile that lasts long after the final notes have melted away.
Timi Turmel is a master of the accordion, and has loved playing since he was a child. Crowned Québecois Champion for three consecutive years, Timi went on to join Mackinaw, the distinguished Québecois company of traditional dance. For many years, in his role not only as accordionist but also as pianist and musical director, Timi played in festivals all over Europe. A gifted creative, Timi is known and loved for his joie de vivre, generosity, and dedication to musical excellence.
Louis Schryer is one of his generation's most respected and sought-after fiddle players. He is both the only 8-time Canadian Fiddle Champion and the only artist to hold the title of 4-time Grand Masters Fiddle Champion. Known for his soulful touch and exhilarating spontaneity, his playing elegantly spans the spectrum of violin music: traditional, Québecois, Cape Breton, Irish, swing and classical. Highly regarded for his generosity as a mentor, Louis has taught at numerous high-profile music camps including the Grand Masters Fiddle Camp and the Leahy Music Camp.
Erin Leahy is a powerhouse on the piano, playing traditional, Celtic, ragtime, classical, and jazz-influenced music. Erin also plays violin with the same command and musicality, and is a respected composer and arranger. As a member of the internationally renowned Canadian band Leahy, Erin and her siblings have enjoyed a long and distinguished musical career. They have worldwide sales of more than half a million albums and have received numerous awards, including three JUNOS. In addition to Leahy's significant catalogue of recordings, Erin has released a self-titled solo piano album that includes original compositions and arrangements.
